→ in 2001 a group of biologists embarked to South America where they were exposed to an unknown virus
→ all four of the explorers obtained mutant abilities immediately
→ after the returned to the United States, they began to infect others with their abilities
→ by 2009, a majority of the US was infected
→ in 2010 the first hospitals were built, and mutants were taken in for testing
→ laws and protection acts and other things were passed for the mutants.
→ mayhem and war spread regardless, causing more fear of the mutant kind.
→ in 2013 a group of terrorist mutant extremists was formed.
→ by 2013 more and more were infected and growing mutations
→ some hospitals continued their testing, and others were burnt to the ground and turned against by the mutants
→ between 2013-2015, it was nothing but chaos and anarchy until 2016
→ in 2016, president Anthony Kaine was elected
→ Kaine quickly changed everything, closing all hospitals and banning all testing
→ in 2020, peace was restored for a while
→ President Kaine restored all rights to the mutants, allowing them to have jobs again, and to be treated as equals.
→ Wednesday, September 19, 2020 President Anthony Kaine was assassinated, bringing Brent McCannials to the white house.
→ McCannials took away all mutant rights again, and opened up the "New York Establishment of Mutantology," a testing facility/hospital for mutant experimentation
→ laws were passed making mutants perfectly incapable of defending themselves. Some laws consisted of: mutants being given the death sentence for committing any kind of crime, mutants couldn't leave the country, could not pro-create, could not have government affiliated jobs, and more
→ mutants were given a color coded danger level, orang, pink and red.
→ a drug was created in an attempt to cure the mutation. this only affected some of the mutants, but not all.
→ as a result, some mutants obtained a second or third ability from the drug
→ just like the years before, chaos had grown for the mutants. between 2020-2021, more deaths began showing up, of severe cases of mutant murders and mutants being "put down" for breaking small laws.
→ in 2021, President McCannials was murdered by a mutant in the organization known as Griffin.
→ After his murder, the New York Establishment for Mutantology was burnt down, by Griffin
→ Miles Griffin took over as President, releasing all mutants from testing and giving them their abilities back
→ But, mutants continued to disappear, being taken by the Government to be built up for Military use
→ In early September, 2021, Collin Tucker and his group of mutants rebelled against the Government, taking down the hospital and blowing it up.

everything below is between now, and when the game opens again

authoritarian/rebellion time line → Shortly after the explosion of the second hospital in Nevada, Griffin disbanded → Aiden, Hanna and Aiden's sister all escaped to London, England, where they now reside → With the help of Collin Tucker, the Authoritarians quickly banded together and grew, taking over various major cities in the United States with a dictatorial rule. → Miles Griffin left the country, stepping down fearfully after being abandoned by his daughter, Hanna Griffin, and has been in hiding ever since → Gladly, Collin Tucker took over, addressing to the world that there would be a new reign. → Every day since that, people were killed for not obeying anyone in the Authoritarian group → On the side lines, a rebel group was made, known as the "Rebellion." Dead set on bringing down the Authoritarians, with any means necessary → Secretly, the Rebellion grew, just as the Authoritarians did, but it was a tough situation, of not trusting strangers and keeping secrets, double crossing and stabbing in the back. → Finally, one day, the Rebellion was discovered by one of the members of the Authoritarians. Zachary Brimmer discovered by over hearing a conversation amongst two of the Rebels, promptly engaging them in battle. Only one of the Rebels survived, and Zachary Brimmer was left wounded, but alive. → After that, warfare broke out between the Rebellion and the Authoritarians → Since then, it was difficult for mutants or humans, for that matter, to walk the streets without being addressed, questioned, or hurt → Daily, the death count of humans rises from being murdered by anyone in the Authoritarian group → Humans who outwardly put down mutants are publicly chastised, then killed. → Authoritarian mutants do home raids to see if any mutants are housing a human, or a human they are after.
